Who Can Apply for the Rover Scholarship?
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a legal resident of the United States.
- Be a graduating high school senior (GPA 3.0 or above) or a current college student (first-year, second-year student, or junior) pursuing an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree.
- Graduate students must have a 3.0 GPA or a “Pass” in a pass/fail system.
- You must not be related to any Rover employee (being related to a Rover sitter or dog walker is allowed)
How to Apply for the Rover Scholarship
- Write a 400 to 500-word essay in English responding to the question:
- How did growing up with a pet in your life (could be a friend’s or family member’s) impact the person you are today?
- Put your essay in a Google Doc. Include your name and year in college at the top.
- Complete the official submission form on Rover.com.
- Submit your entry by May 1, 2025.
Rover is looking for original essays that include personal stories, thoughtful ideas, and insight into how pets have shaped who you are.
How the Winner Will Be Selected
Your essay will be judged based on the following criteria:
- 50% Thoughtfulness of response
- 30% Relevance to the prompt
- 15% Quality of writing
- 5% Grammar and spelling
The winner will receive a $2,500 scholarship check and be contacted by May 31, 2025. Only the selected winner will be notified.
